Martha Marie Barnes

Martha Marie Barnes, age 84 of Lindale, Texas, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2024, in Lindale. She was born February 8, 1939, in Shreveport, Louisiana to the late Thomas Paxton Stephens, Jr. and Martha Katherine (Stobert) Stephens. Martha grew up in Coushatta, Louisiana then later moved to Homer, Louisiana where she was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She later became a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lindale where she faithfully volunteered at the church’s We Care thrift store. Martha enjoyed reading and traveling, particularly to Destin, Florida. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, and was an avid fan of Louisiana Tech Women’s Basketball. She served many years as Vice President of the family business, Advertising Unlimited. Martha was preceded in death by husband, Phillip Chadwick; daughter, Margaret Marie Chadwick; son, David Barnes; brother, Thomas Stephens and his wife, Margie; son-in-law, Danny Martin; daughter-in-law, Esther Barnes; and grandsons, John Jacob Martin and Beau Barnes. She is survived by her beloved husband of 43 years, Jerry Barnes; daughters, Kathy Chadwick Maxey and husband, Ricky, Marie Chadwick Smith, Janie Barnes Trocino and husband, Tom; sons, Bob Barnes, and Richard Barnes and wife, Billie; grandchildren, Heath Martin, Brooke Martin Simmons, Chad Johnson and wife, Jenny, Gannon Smith, Roxanne Trocino, Francesca Trocino Schwarz and husband, Kyle, Elizabeth Barnes, Raymond Kadleck, William C. Barnes, Lennon Barnes and wife, Jennifer, Rachel Barnes, and Gage Slater; great-grandchildren, Paxton Simmons, Kaden Haecker Heidi Johnson, Jack Johnson, Charles Kyle Schwarz, Hailey Grove-Kadleck, Ian Kadleck, Avery Kadleck, Jackson Barnes, Adreyen Barnes, Dominic Barnes, and Tristen Barnes; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.
