Ronald Charles Ethridge

Services for Ronald Charles Ethridge, age 47 of Lindale, are scheduled for 2:00 PM Sunday, February 26, 2017, at the Pine Street Baptist Church in Winnsboro with Bro. Charles Ethridge and Bro. Robbie Caldwell officiating. Interment will follow in the Damascus Cemetery in Lindale. Services are under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale. Ronald died Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at a Tyler hospital. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on July 30, 1969, to Charles Elburn and Sara Belle (Aten) Ethridge. He graduated from Winnsboro High School in 1987 where he was active in the FFA, receiving the state Lone Star Chapter Award. Ronald graduated from the Texas A&M at Commerce Fire Academy in 2004. He served as a volunteer firefighter in Winnsboro for 27 years. As an honorary member, his number “71” was retired as of February 2017. He received The Firefighter of the Year Award in 1998. Ronald worked for the Texas Forest Service as a firefighter and force coordinator from 2006 to 2014. He was a member of the Brother’s Keepers Motorcycle Club, Tyler Chapter #18, where he was affectionately known as Ron “Indian” Ethridge. They are advocates to help raise funds for “Camp: I’m Still Me,” supporting the children that have been victims of burns. Ronald grew up in Pine Street Baptist Church of Winnsboro and was a current member of New Harmony Baptist Church near Tyler. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Harvey and Opal Ethridge, Ont and Anna Bell Funderburg, and father and mother-in-laws, Thurman “Pete” and Carole Duncan. Ronald is survived by his wife, Juleann Ethridge of Lindale; parents, Charles and Sara Ethridge of Winnsboro; sisters, Anna Shuman and husband, Larry of Sanger and Rena’ Bartlett of Bridgeport; brothers, Roger Ethridge and wife, Chris of Rowlett and David Ramo and wife, Cindy of Bryan; children, Skyler Ethridge of Mt. Pleasant; Kristi Steele of Tyler; and Susan Chavez of Lindale; grandchildren, Brenden Ethridge, Sierra Outlaw, Megan Wall, Gavin Steele, Derek Chavez, Jr., Brittany Chavez, and Brayden Chavez; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Serving as pallbearers will be Roger Ethridge, Larry Shuman, David Ramo, Scott Shuman, Jacob Shuman, Phil Luetchford, Gabriel Ethridge, Gideon Ethridge, Caleb Bartlett, Noah Bartlett, Dennis Duncan, and Melvin Duncan. Honorary pallbearers are the Brother’s Keepers Motorcycle Club – Tyler Chapter #18. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to "Camp: I'm Still Me" in care of BKMC Chapter # 18, PO Box 8575 Tyler, TX 75711 OR Pine Street Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 153 Winnsboro, TX 75494. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale.
