Clarlynn Jones Arbuckle

A memorial service for Clarlynn Jones Arbuckle, age 84 of Lindale, Texas, is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the Swan Wood Springs Methodist Church in Swan. A private interment will be held at Lindale City Cemetery. Clarlynn passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026, in Tyler, Texas. She was born on October 25, 1941, in Terrell, Texas to the late Clarence Jesse and Edna Juanita (Clark) Terry. Clarlynn was a lifelong resident of Lindale and a member of the Swan Wood Springs Methodist Church. After many years of service, Clarlynn retired as Registrar at the University of Texas at Tyler. She was preceded in death by husbands, Wilburn Peyton Jones, Brady Arbuckle and his son, Gene Arbuckle. Clarlynn was as talented at playing the organ as she was at crocheting for her family. A true Texas grandmother, she was a walking encyclopedia of family history with an affinity for Clinique perfume and DQ blizzards. She loved reading, crossword puzzles, and black coffee. Clarlynn, affectionately known as “Memommie” to the grandchildren who named her, is survived by her children, Jeff Jones and wife, Kristy of Lindale, Janet Fugler and husband, Jimmy of Lindale, and Jesse Jones II and wife, Tobi of Ft. Worth, Linda Arbuckle of San Augustine; grandchildren, Joshua Jones and wife, Kellie of Plano, Jamin Jones and wife, Blair of New Braunfels, Allyson Brown and husband, Lance of Swan, Erik Jones and wife, Veronica of Charlotte, North Carolina, Terri Goslee and husband, Jason of Salisbury, Maryland, JP Fugler of Mineola, and Jaren Jones and wife, Haleigh of Ft. Worth, David Arbuckle of San Augustine, Lindy Arbuckle of San Augustine; great grandchildren, Baylor, Lyra, Cade, Alder, Malakai, Caleb, and Ellie; and numerous other loving family members and friends. She had a gift for making those around her feel welcome, developing friends akin to family wherever she went. As such, Clarlynn was a longtime host of Thanksgiving for extended family members and friends without a place to go. She leaves her family with cherished memories, an unending catalog of stories, and an impressive amount of dishes. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that charitable contributions be made to a local library or the organization of your choice.
