Clay Tipton

Clayton Wayne Tipton, 55, of Lindale, Texas, passed away surrounded by the love of his family and friends. Clay lived a life marked by dedication, compassion, achievement, and an unwavering commitment to those he loved. A lifelong resident of East Texas, Clay was recognized early for his intelligence and determination, graduating as the valedictorian of his high school class. He went on to build a remarkable career as a physical therapist, serving patients at the hospital in Athens, Texas, for 28 years. Throughout his career, he touched countless lives with his professionalism, kindness, and genuine desire to help others heal and regain their strength. Outside of his profession, Clay embraced life with enthusiasm. He was a passionate supporter of the University of Texas at Austin athletic programs and could often be found cheering on the Longhorns. An avid golfer and dedicated hunter, he found joy in the outdoors and treasured the friendships and memories made along the way. Above all else, Clay loved his family. He cherished every opportunity to spend time with those closest to him and was a devoted husband, father, son, and brother. His warmth, sense of humor, wisdom, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Clay is survived by his loving wife, Lanette Tipton; his daughter, Mary Gwynn Tipton; his son, Mitchell Tipton; his mother, Gwynn Tipton; his father, Herschel Tipton; his brother, Jonathan Tipton and his Sister in Law, Dania Tipton. He also leaves behind many extended family members, friends, colleagues, and former patients who were blessed to know him. Clay’s legacy of compassion, hard work, and devotion to family will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched. Though he will be greatly missed, his memory will forever remain a source of comfort, inspiration, and love. A celebration of Clay’s life will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home Chapel in Lindale Texas. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 19, 2026, at Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home.
