David Ross "Buddy" Bozeman Jr.

Funeral services for Mr. David Ross "Buddy" Boazman, Jr. are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 7, 2014 in the First United Methodist Church of Winona with Pastor Brad Crawford officiating. Interment will follow in the Harris Creek Cemetery with services under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home in Lindale, Texas. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Saturday, September 6, 2014 at the funeral home in Lindale. David Ross “Buddy” Bozeman, Jr., 81, of Winona, passed away at his home on September 5, 2014. He was born to the late Eunice and Ross Bozeman on August 16, 1933, in Rosebud, Texas, where he grew up, met and married the love of his life, Helen. Helen and Buddy moved to Winona in 1957 where he began his career with Hunt Oil Company. As Ranch Manager of The Pecan Grove, they raised their two daughters on the legendary Hunt farm. He was known as “Big Daddy” to all of his friends and family and was an avid horseman. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Faye Hartman. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Helen Bozeman. He adored his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He loved being surrounded by his family, the light of his life; daughter, Cindy Martin and Joe Burroughs of Tyler; daughter & son-in-law, Becky and Bubba Kasling of Hughes Springs; grandchildren, Luci Martin and Peter Sigrist of Rancho Cucamonga, California; Trey Kasling and wife, Katina and great granddaughter, Joy of Richardson; and Jon Kasling and wife, Danielle of Austin; sisters, Vivian Kornegay of Glen Rose and Jewel Blansit of Waco; and sister-in-law, Sandra Ross of Winona. Buddy was a member of the First United Methodist Church – Winona; the Masonic Lodge in Winona; past member of the Winona ISD School Board; and served on the Board of Directors for the First National Bank of Big Sandy. Special thanks to faithful visitors: Pastor Brad Crawford and wife, Debi; J. B. Smith; Mike Sellars, a.k.a. “Pigtail”; Matt Kerns; and Willie Dailey, to name a few. He spent many hours at the Post Office with his good friend, Nancy Parker. Big Daddy was lovingly known to many as the official “greeter” at the Winona Post Office. Also special thanks to the faithful aides who have cared for Big Daddy for almost 2 years; Lee, “Little Boy”, Jackie and others. You have been the best and Big Daddy loved all of you. Hospice of East Texas has been a blessing during this time. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church-Winona.
