Gayle Wyatt Chaney

Funeral services for Mrs. Gayle Wyatt Chaney, age 74, of Lindale are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at the First Baptist Church Lindale with Bro. Gary Applewhite officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday evening at the Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home in Lindale. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. in the Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery in Abilene, Texas after a visitation time prior to the graveside service at the Elmwood Funeral Home from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. in Abilene under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Directors. Gayle went to be with her Lord on September 3, 2011. She was born on April 12, 1937 in Abilene, the daughter of the late John Cecil and Emma Stella Wilson Wyatt. Gayle was retired from Hawkins and Tatum ISDs and was a member of the North Lindale Church of Christ. Gayle was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, better known as MeMaw. Gayle never met a stranger. She loved people and always put the needs of others before her own. She was known for her quick-witted humor and her many colorful stories with which she would entertain her many friends and family. There was never a dull moment with MeMaw and she always made your time with her fun and memorable. She will always be remembered for her great cooking and, of course, her wonderful candy at Christmas. She was preceded in death by a son, Johnny Don Joy; sister, Laverne Prewett and brother, Riley Wyatt. Gayle is survived by her husband, Don Chaney of Lindale; Daughter, Sheri Joy Hall of Lindale; Sons & Daughters-in-law, Steve & Shelly Chaney of Lindale and Kelly & Becky Joy of Houston; sister & brother-in-law, Beverly & Clyde Watson of Abilene; 5 Grandchildren, Hollee Goode, Heather Terrell, Johnny Don Joy, Harmony Tulloch and Landon Chaney; and 7 Great Grandchildren, Rylan Terrell, Kaylee Joy, Grant Goode, Avery Terrell, Garrison Goode, Payton Tulloch and Tate Tulloch. Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Watson, David Watson, Tony Wyatt, Randy Wyatt and Gary Wyatt. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Susan G.
