Funeral services for Janet Valeria Jones, age 78 of Lindale, Texas, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 21, 2020 at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home Chapel in Lindale, Texas with Bro. Kris Emerson officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Rusk, Texas under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale. Janet passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2020 in Mineola, Texas. She was born June 14, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Frederick Elmer Leopold and Anna Elizabeth Sophie (Doege) Jones. Janet served her country in the United States Army and has lived in Lindale for the past eight years where she was a member of the Lindale Church of Christ and was formerly of Rusk. She worked many years as a Level-4 Registered Nurse. Janet worked for Terrell State Hospital and the last 20 years of her career with Rusk State Hospital. Janet loved to craft. One of her favorite things to do was to make her own decorative cards. Her cards went out to everyone who knew her and to many who did not. Many people from her church, her neighborhood, and in her many travels received one of her handmade crafts. Her biggest gift was her favorite book, “Muscle and a Shovel”. She would give that book to anyone who would accept it. As a faithful steward of Christ, she wanted everyone to find their way to God. She is preceded in death by her brother, James Frederick Jones. Janet is survived by her husband, Calvin Levi Jones of Lindale, Texas; son, Mark Jones; daughter, Cherie Barge and her partner, Robert Terrell Collins of Jacksonville, Texas; brothers, Jerry Allen Jones of Alberta, Alabama, Jeffrey Oliver Jones and wife, Sandy of Roseville, Michigan, Jordan Eugene Jones and wife, Judy of Jacksonville, Texas; sisters, Joann Marie Gennette and husband, James of Alanson, Michigan, and Jacquelyn (Jackie) Hope Hull and Husband, Jerry of Wilmington, North Carolina; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Ruth Dement of Van, Texas, Patsy Ann Eison of Shenandoah, Texas, and Doris Stamey and husband, David of Duncanville, Texas; 5 grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 2020 at Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale.
