Funeral services for Louie Raymond Brown, age 77 of Lindale, Texas, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home Chapel in Lindale with Dr. Tom Buck officiating. Interment will follow at Hopewell Cemetery in Lindale. Louie passed away Thursday, August 13, 2026, in Lindale. He was born on October 19, 1948, in Tyler, Texas to the late George Henry and Evelyn (Hicks) Brown. He grew up in the Hopewell Community and returned there for his retirement years working the family property passed through four generations. He attended Swan Elementary School in the first grade and then attended Lindale schools graduating in 1966. He received an Associate of Arts from Tyler Junior College and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University in 1970. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lindale and of the Samaritan Sunday School Class. He was also a member of the Frank Sexton Masonic Lodge #206 in Pittsburg, Texas. He also served on the board of Lindale Rural Water Supply, Smith County Emergency Services District #1 in Lindale and appreciated the Lindale Fire Department so much. Louie retired from Enbridge Energy in Houston after 34 years in the natural gas pipeline and processing industry serving in the pipeline control center. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Vickie Brown of Lindale; children, Molly Anna Brown of Lindale; Nathan George Brown of Lindale; Margaret Louann Brown of West Columbia; sister-in-law, Ann Wilbanks and husband, Bobby; brother-in-law, Doug Cameron and wife, Georgia; nieces, Shanna Wilbanks and Danielle Cameron and nephew, Shawn Wilbanks; and numerous other loving family members and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Monty Shank, Mike Grimes, Jimmy Lee, Charlie Dentleman, and Dennis Bodiford. Honorary pallbearers include Jerry Terry, Mitch Bodiford, Tommy Gibson and members of the Lindale Fire Department and the Samaritan Sunday School Class. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, August 17, 2026, at Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale. In Lieu of flowers the family has asked that contributions be made to the Hopewell Cemetery Association, 13036 FM 2710, Lindale, Texas 75771.
