Lynda McDonald Horn

A Celebration of Life for Lynda McDonald Horn, age 74 of Tyler and previously of Lindale, Texas will be on Tuesday, July 2nd at 1:00pm at CCF (Community Christian Fellowship) in Garden Valley. Interment will follow in the Lindale City Cemetery under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Directors in Lindale. Lynda McDonald Horn was born on February 23, 1939 and went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, June 29, 2013. She was born in Tyler, Texas and graduated from Mineola High School in 1957. She lived in Lindale for 40 years and lived in Tyler for the last 5 years. Lynda's love for her family and her Heavenly Father was incredible. Lynda ministered to women in prison, mothered the motherless and led bible studies in her home for years. She was a member of CCF (Community Christian Fellowship) in Garden Valley for 30 plus years. Lynda was a precious woman of faith that will always be treasured. Lynda was preceded in death by her parents Oliver Perry and Edna Frances Welch McDonald of Mineola, sister Barbara Bass, nephew Joe Bass and 2 brothers in law Tommy Ingram and John Bass and a niece Ann Bass. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Richard Jerrel Horn. She is survived by her children and grandchildren who will love and cherish her forever, son in law and daughter Jerry and Cheryl Terry of Lindale and their children Joi, Jenna and Jill; son in law and daughter Carey and Cyndi Stripling of Lindale and their children Logan and wife Leslie, Abbey and Cade ; and son in law and daughter Terry and Laura Mebane of Bullard and their children Hunter, Austin, Colton and Connor. She is also survived by her sister Martha Ingram of Everman, brother and sister in law Perry and Margie McDonald of Lindale and brother in law and sister Louis and Sue Jeanes of Hideaway. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews in Texas, Missouri and Canada. Lynda was diagnosed with lymphoma in June 2013 and received care at ETMC of Tyler and Hospice of East Texas. The family wants to say a huge thank you to the many close friends and family that sat with our Nana round the clock for the last two weeks of her life. Your love for her was a great comfort for us. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Logan Byerly, Hunter Skelton, Cade Stripling, Colton Mebane, Austin Skelton, & Connor Mebane Honorary pallbearers will be nephews, Clay Puckett, Rob McDonald, & Stephen McDonald The family will receive friends and family for visitation on Monday, July 1st from 6-8 at Caudle Rutledge Funeral Home in Lindale.
