Merle Anders

Merle Deen Anders, faithful wife, honored mother, and much loved grandmother, peacefully passed through Heaven’s Gates into her Savior's arms, on June 8th, 2025 in Lindale, Texas. Funeral services for Merle Anders, age 87 of Lindale, Texas, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home Chapel in Lindale, Texas with Kyle Nees officiating. Interment will follow at Lindale City Cemetery in Lindale. She was born on November 3, 1937, in Meridian, Texas to the late Fredrick and Ruby (Doty) Bryant. Merle has lived in Lindale for the past 4 years; prior to that, Merle lived in Lufkin, Texas and Victoria, Texas where she was a member of the Victoria First Baptist Church. She faithfully loved and cared for her husband Charlie, of 69 years. Together, they enjoyed family, a love for animals, the outdoors and gardening, She spent her life as a homemaker and was a nanny for many years. Merle was a dedicated mother and grandmother, always working tirelessly for the needs of others. She was a cornerstone of love and support for her family. She had a warm, genuine smile and a special way of making common things shine with order and beauty. But perhaps her greatest gift was to care and nurture children. She had a way of connecting with them and loving them on their level. She won their hearts and then held them to a high standard of character. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Charles Ray Anders on January 31, 2024. Merle was survived by two sons, Ray and wife, Susan Anders of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Ike and wife, Karla Anders of Lindale; 6 grandchildren, Ryan and wife, Heather Anders, Danny and wife, Samantha Anders, Collin and wife, Rebecca Anders, Christopher Anders and fiancé, Joy Amiss, Isaac and wife, Andrea Anders and Rachel Anders Bozeman; 9 great-grandchildren, Harper, Brinley, Charlie, Esteban, Emanuel, Ezequiel, Wyatt, Weston and Warner; sister, Barbara and husband, Jerry Terrell of Stamford, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews; special family friends, Mark and Laura Westermen and their five children: Kyle, Eric, Logan, Kevin and Morgan; and other loving family and friends. Pallbearers will be granddaughter, Rachel Bozeman and grandsons, Isaac Anders, Ryan Anders, Danny Anders, Collin Anders, and Christopher Anders. Special gratitude for the loving care she received from the staff at Wesley House Assisted Living and the staff of Kindful Hospice.
