Robert G. Hart

Heaven gained a truly good man Wednesday, December 28, 2005. Our loving husband, daddy, and Papa answered his call home after fighting a long, courageous battle. He never met a stranger and he leaves behind a legacy of lives touched by his love, mercy, selflessness, and conviction to always do the right thing. He taught us to smile at strangers, to help the helpless, put family first, and to honor God in all that we do. He lives on in countless people whom he influenced and in his loving family whose lives bear the beautiful mark of his presence. He loved his Lord, his family and friends, singing in the choir, and the Texas Longhorns. We are better people for having known him and are comforted by the knowledge that we will see him again one day. He is at rest and we are at peace. Bob was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the United States Army, a Mason & Shriner, member of the Lindale First Baptist Church and choir, member of the East Texas Baptist Disaster Relief Team, with whom he served in Iran in 2004, and was retired from Bealls Department Store in Tyler as Manager. Bob was also a 1959 graduate of the University of Texas. Mr. Hart is survived by his Wife, Mrs. Anne Hart of Lindale; 2 Sons & Daughters-in-law, William E. & Lori Hart of Norman, Oklahoma and Kirk & Viki Hart of Tyler; Daughter, Peggy Simmons of Gladewater; 9 Grandchildren, Drew Hart, Dillon Hart, Jake Simmons, Julianne Simmons, Josh Hart, Jessica Hart, Chris Lux, Courtney Lux, and Caroline Lux; and Sister, Mrs. Lynda Wickliffe of Houston. Serving as pallbearers will be Bob Alexander, Larry Blanchard, Clarence Evans, George Lemley, Jerry Lockhart, Carroll Prewitt, Wayne Simmons, and Joe Swendson. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Brewster, Bob Chambless, Mike Mayfield, Robert Gordon, and members of the Texas Baptist Men's Relief Team. Services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 31, 2005 in the Lindale First Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Tisdale and Rev. James B. Rutledge officiating. Graveside services are scheduled for 3:00 P.M. Saturday, December 31, 2005 in the Simpsonville Cemetery between Quitman and Gilmer under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Directors in Lindale. The family will received friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday evening, December 30, 2005 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, P.O.
