Royce Frederick "Fred" Carrigan Jr.

A Celebration of Life for, Royce F. (“Fred”) Carrigan, Jr, is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 18, 2025, at the Hideaway Lake Community Church in Hideaway, Texas. Fred entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on January 15, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on February 25, 1940, Fred lived a life marked by faith, love, and service. Fred married the love and joy of his life, Joan Francis Lucado, on July 14th, 1963. Together, they shared 61 beautiful years of marriage, building a legacy of love and devotion. They were blessed with three children who married partners Fred loved: Royce and Paige Carrigan, Dana and Dustin Whiteley, and Jack and Martha Carrigan. He was also a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life. A man of deep conviction and purpose, Fred was known for his unwavering love of God’s Word and his passion for spreading the Gospel. His kind words, gentle guidance, and loving heart left an indelible mark on all who knew him. Messages from those whose lives he touched have poured in, testifying to the profound impact he had through his faith and compassion. Fred served his country in the United States Navy before pursuing higher education at New Mexico State University. He began his career as a businessman in the West Texas oil industry before embarking on an adventurous chapter as a teacher in Alaska—a journey that spanned 15 years. In 2006, He and Joan retired to Hideaway, where they found a welcoming community opening his heart to many new friends he treasured. An avid fisherman, he especially loved time spent fishing in the mountains of Colorado. He also enjoyed golfing and reading. Fred’s life was a testament to his faith and love for others.
