Sandra "Sandy" Barron Wells

Sandra “Sandy” Ann Barron Wells was born on February 28, 1956 in Tyler, Texas and was raised in the New Harmony community by Hubert Leon and Dorothy Jean Reynolds Barron. After an 8 year battle with Parkinson’s, she ran into the arms of Jesus in the early morning hours on September 14, 2024, at the age of 68. Sandy graduated from John Tyler High School in 1974. She then studied at Tyler Junior College, where she frequented the Baptist Student Union, and met the love of her life, Bobby Wells. They later married on August 16, 1975 and celebrated 49 years of marriage just last month. The couple remained in Lindale, where they lived life to the fullest serving our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in both their church and community. She always wanted to be a stay at home mom, and treasured this role immensely as she gave birth first to a daughter Stephanie and 2 ½ years later, a son Chris. Sandy will be remembered most for her quiet, patient, and caring demeanor which made her beloved by all. She loved children and spent many years teaching them in Sunday School and Bible Study Fellowship. As an active member of First Baptist Church for many years, she spent decades using her angelic, soprano voice in both a trio and the church choir. Fishing and hunting were a favorite pastime, and she was known to out-catch and out-shoot most of her family members and friends. Her treasured “Secret Garden” backyard is a place where she spent hours tending to her favorite plants and flowers. Some of our happiest memories took place at the beach, picking up shells, and watching the waves together as a family. Most of you know she was small in stature, and many people teased her that she was a “big thing in a tiny package", and that statement could not be more true. She loved her husband big, her kids, the grandgirls, and everyone else around her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Dorothy Barron, and her brother-in-law, Bill Gwatney. Sandy is survived by her beloved husband, Bobby Wells of Lindale, daughter, Stephanie Myrick and husband, Alan, of Lindale; son, Chris Wells, of China, sister Linda Gwatney and nephew, Brian of Grand Junction, Colorado, sister Donna Osborne and brother-in-law Larry, of Crowley, TX, and her precious granddaughters, Morgan and Sarah Myrick, of Lindale. The family wishes to express their sincerest appreciation to her full-time caregivers Johnnie, who was with her for over three years, Rena, and Courtney, to name a few. In addition, Harbor Hospice was a god-send to the family in the last year, where Tosh, Brittan, and a multitude of others served our family so well. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to First Baptist Church Lindale Building Fund. Pallbearers will be Scott Childs, Charles Lane, Aaron Medders, Ricky Medders, Kevin Ramos and Chet Spearman. Honorary Pallbearers are Brian Gwatney, Alan Myrick, Perry McDonald, Larry Osborne and Chris Wells. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, September 20 from 4-6pm at Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale. Sandy’s Celebration of Life service will be held at First Baptist Church on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 10am with burial to follow at Lindale City Cemetery.
