Funeral services for Stephen Joel Alexander, age 50 of Hawkins, Texas, is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home Chapel in Lindale, Texas with Pastor Steve Prestridge officiating. Interment will follow at the New Hope Cemetery. Stephen went to be with Jesus His Savior on Friday, September 3, 2021, in Tyler, Texas. He was born December 29, 1970, in Hurst, Texas. Stephen has lived in Hawkins for the last 7 years and was a member of the Northside Church in Mineola, Texas. He was proud and honored to know that his performance in his role as a Senior Network Infrastructure Manager with General Dynamics Mission Systems impacted men and women in the military and was crucial to their well-being and safety in the line of duty. Stephen resided in several northeast Texas communities before discovering his piece of heaven on earth in Hawkins. He found great value in living a simple life, knowing true contentment was found in the abundance of time he spent with those he loved enjoying all that God had blessed him with. Stephen was a true outdoorsman and gun enthusiast. He started every morning walking with the Lord around his property with a hot cup of coffee in hand, listening to the birds and thanking God for another day in the life that was given to him. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, kayaking, camping, craft beers, barbecuing, and was known to play the occasional video game. Stephen was preceded in death by his father, Philip Duane Alexander. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Rebecca Alexander of Hawkins; mother, Norma Jeane Alexander of Mabank; children, Zach Alexander and wife, Michaela of Tyler, Josh and Jacob Alexander both of Hawkins; brother, John Alexander and wife, Claudine of Keller; sister, Melissa Carroll and husband, Aaron of Pensacola, FL; and numerous other loving family members, friends, and coworkers. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Kendall, Chris Carlton, Dave Morris, Michael Maddox, Darrin Stewart, and James Chatham. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale. Stephen wanted his marriage to be an example and an encouragement to others and often commented on the positive impact marriage ministry had on his relationship with Rebecca.
