Tommy Glenn Williams

A memorial service for, Tommy Glenn Williams of Lindale, Texas, is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2025 at the Cross Brand Cowboy Church with Bro. Mike Morrow officiating. Family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to Hospice of East Texas, the Cross Brand Cowboy Church or to the Alzheimer’s Alliance of Smith County. On March 7th, 2025 Tommy Williams, cattle rancher and beloved patriarch, died peacefully in the home he had shared with his family for over 30 years. He was born on January 26th of 1946 on the same stretch of land in Lindale, Texas that he would later cultivate with his wife and son. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gail Williams, his three children, Shane, Sonja and her husband Bryan, and Hollee, his seven grandchildren, Jordyn, Grayson and his wife Brooke, Gabe and his wife Hermella, Tucker, Liv, Cole, and Leena, his great grandchild Benaiah, and another great grandchild on the way. He is also survived by his sister Margaret Mize, his sister-in-law Viann Williams, his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Walter Paul and DeeAnne Crews, and numerous neices and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents E.C. and Frances Williams, his brother Bubba Williams, and his in-laws Daryl and Natalie Crews. Tommy Williams was many things during his life on earth. He was a cattle rancher, a businessman, an elder at Cross Brand Cowboy Church, an Aggie, and a man who loved and respected the land. A natural leader, his council was often sought from both family and friends but also strangers. He had grit. To most he was Tommy Williams: wise and respectable. To some he was Papa, kind and clever. Papa liked honey in his coffee. He made up little little rhymes and poems. He always had an answer, even if he made it up on the spot. During his life, Tommy’s generosity was as unmatched as his wit. He gave his time, his money, and, more importantly, his attention greatly and often. He loved the Lord; he cherished his wife, and treasured his children. He knew he had the best of the best and said it often. He is deeply missed by those who knew him.
