Bobby Walston

A memorial service for Mr. Robert Earl “Bobby” Walston, age 87 of Lindale, Texas, is scheduled for 1:00 PM Saturday, April 17, 2021 at the East Foothill Missionary Baptist Church in Lindale, Texas with Bro. Gary Dinger officiating. Robert known as Bobby to his many friends went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at a nursing home in Tyler, Texas. He was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on October 10, 1933 to the late Jerry Emil and Frances Opal (Smith) Walston. Bobby was raised in Freeport, Texas and was part owner of Superior Graphic Arts with his parents. He graduated from Brazosport High School in 1952 and Sam Houston State College in 1957 with a bachelor’s degree in photoengraving. Bobby enjoyed hugs and sharing his love with everyone he knew. He enjoyed writing poems alone then sharing them with others and was a fond collector of clowns. Bobby was a member of the East Foothill Missionary Baptist Church, Boy Scouts of America, Explorer Scout with a Silver Award, Sam Houston State University Association (Lifetime Member), Order of Demolays, Edom Methodist Men’s Marble Club, Freeport Lions Club (Board of Directors), Happy Hill Farm Godparents Club, NRA, Texas State Rifle Association, and Sheriff’s Association of Texas – Smith County. He is survived by a host of friends.
