Funeral services for Carol Elaine Sucich Wood, age 72 of Lindale, TX are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, February 26, 2021 at Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale with Bro. Louis Mizell officiating. Interment will follow at the Bethesda Cemetery. Carol passed away to be with her Lord and Savior on February 18, 2021 at her home. She was born on January 20, 1949 in Galveston, TX to the late Vito Leon Sucich and Anna Ruth (Thornton) Sucich. Carol has been a well known and loved resident of Lindale, TX for over 60 years. Carol had worked in Insurance for many years but later worked for the Lindale Independent School District where she enjoyed one of her great passions in working with children before retiring. She also enjoyed crafting, planning weddings and helping others for many years. Carol was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lindale where she served and devoted much of her time for several years. She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her aunt and uncle, George and Wordna Thornton who also helped in raising her. Carol is survived by her husband of almost 49 years, Gary Wood of Lindale, TX; son, Michael Wood of Lindale, TX; and daughter and son-n-law, Lee Ann and Jason Walston of Lindale, TX. She was also loved by her husband’s siblings, Betty Ivy of Hideaway, TX; Tommy Wood and his wife Nancy of Brownsboro, TX; Wayne Wood and his wife Linda of Waxahachie, TX; Edward Wood of Granbury, TX; William “Billy” Wood of Tyler, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and long time friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Walston, Jason Wood, Keith Ivy, Scott Rozell, Casey Adams and Nathan James. The family will receive friends and family from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, February 25, 2021 at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale.
