George Charlie McPherson

A graveside service for George ‘Charlie’ McPherson, age 69 of Cleburne, Texas formerly of Lindale, Texas is scheduled for 2:00 PM Sunday, January 17, 2021 at the Lindale City Cemetery with Bro. James Cowart officiating. Services are under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale, Texas. Charlie passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at his residence in Cleburne, Texas. He was born on February 5, 1951 in Vina, Alabama to the late G. C. and Liddie Marie (Emerson) McPherson. Charlie enlisted and served in the United States Army from 1971 to 1973. He retired from Smith County Road & Bridge where he worked as a heavy machine operator. Charlie was an avid fisherman, enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and loved building hotrods with his brother James and best friend Paul. He was a fun-loving prankster who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends above all. Charlie never met a stranger and was a friend to all he knew. He will be dearly missed. Charlie was preceded in death by his infant brother, Robert Lee McPherson, brother, James McPherson and sister, Martha Williams. Charlie is survived by his daughters, Melissa McPherson Lanford and husband, Ken of Cleburne, Texas; Crystal Jean Groos of Allen, Texas; Christina Marie Banks and husband, James of Northport, Alabama; grandchildren, Justin Brian Taylor of Allen, Texas; Piper Jaide Lanford of Cleburne, Texas; Paigen Grace Lanford of Cleburne, Texas; Ashlyn Gisele Groos of Allen, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.
