Funeral services for Jerry Don Barnett Sr., age 82 of Lindale, Texas, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home Chapel in Lindale with Tim Bryan officiating. Interment will follow at Lindale City Cemetery. Jerry passed away Friday, December 11, 2020 in Tyler, Texas. He was born June 28, 1938 in Red Springs, Texas to the late Barnum Bailey and Rosa Lee (Ashcraft) Barnett. Jerry served his country in the United States Air Force and was an active member of the Swan Baptist Church in Tyler. He was a lifelong resident of Lindale where he enjoyed his daily trip to visit his friends at Brookshires. Jerry was retired from Stone Container after 45 years of service as a Truckdriver. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, but most of all spending time with his grandchildren. Jerry is preceded in death by his brother, Troy Lee Barnett; nephew, Samuel Ray Barnett; cousin, Glen Fisher; and Bob and Patricia Stednitz. He is survived by his wife of 62 years; Shirley Barnett of Lindale; children, Jerry Don Barnett Jr. and wife, Debbie of Lindale, Timothy Lee Barnett and wife, Shirley of Mineola, Daniel Glen Barnett and wife, Melissa of Garden Valley, Daryl DeWayne Barnett and wife, Lola of Boise, ID, and Fern Lenora Barnett Dudley and fiancé, Jeremy Thompson of Lindale; brother, Earl Bailey Barnett and wife, Lou of Tyler; grandchildren, Shawn Michael Oliver, Jerry Don Barnett III, Natalie Ann Taylor, Timothy Matthew Barnett, Nathaniel Kent Barnett, Aaron Jones Barnett, William Kyle Barnett, Ryan Tucker, Joshua Tucker, Holly Brinkerhoff, Michael Houston Barnett, Kayla Erin Frye, Ryan Lance Dudley, and Bailey Rose Jimenez; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends. Pallbearers include Shawn Oliver, Jerry Don Barnett III, Aaron Barnett, Matthew Barnett, Nathan Barnett, Kyle Barnett, and Ryan Dudley. Honorary pallbearers are Marc Jimenez, Austin Frye, Brady Bowman, Tim Fisher, and Bryan Fisher. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale. As a COVID-19 precaution masks are required at all visitations and funeral services.
