Ret. SFC Larry Joe Weaver Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

A memorial service for Ret. SFC, Larry Joe Weaver, age 68 of Mineola, Texas, is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2022, at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home Chapel in Lindale, Texas with Bro. Bruce Rudd officiating. Entombment is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. Monday. July 11, 2022, at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Larry passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022, in Tyler, Texas. He was born August 5, 1953, in Shirley, Arkansas. Larry served his country in the United States Army during both Desert Storm and Desert Shield and retired as a E-7 Sergeant First Class. He attended the Church of Christ and was a member of the American Legion and VFW. Larry was a firearms enthusiast as he enjoyed shooting, hunting, and was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed working on cars, attending classic car shows, and spending quality time as a mentor to his family and friends. Larry was preceded in death by his father, Willie Joe Weaver; brother, Bobby Dale Weaver; nephew, Joey Weaver; and niece, Mitsy Weaver. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sonia Weaver; mother, Faye Weaver; sons, Randy and Jason Weaver; sister, Brenda Hotz; nephews, Nathan, Chris, and Dameon Weaver; grandson, Grant Weaver, and numerous other loving family members and friends. The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Veteran’s Home of your choice or to the National Rifle Association.
