Services for Leonard Ray Owens of Mineola, Texas will be held on Monday, March 5, 2018; at 2:00 p.m., with visitation 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service, in the chapel of the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale, Texas, with Bro. Alan Weishample officiating. Leonard was born on Thursday, February 22, 1940, in Monroe City, Texas to Joseph T. and Belva Westelle (Carpenter) Owen. Leonard left this earth on Thursday, March 1, 2018, at the age of 78, at his home in Mineola, Texas. Leonard served in the United States Army. Leonard lived in The Woodlands, Texas before moving to Lindale, Texas in 1999. In 2007, he married his bride and moved to Mineola, Texas where he retired from Wal-Mart after 19 years. Leonard loved wood working, making many different things that friends and family enjoy today. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James Larry Owen; sister, Ruth Jeanette Owen Williams; and son, Roger Brent Owens Hyltin. Leonard is survived by his wife, Linda Owens; son, Ronald B. Owens and wife, DeAnn, of Lindale, Texas; daughter, Lynn Heidelberg-Espey and husband, Ronald of Mineola, Texas; son, Bill Heidelberg and wife, Jennifer of Mineola, Texas; daughter, Leia Quinlivan and husband, Craig, of Mineola, Texas; brother, Billie Joe Owen and wife, Amy, of Midlothian, Texas; sister, Patricia Weishampel and husband, Alan, of Lake Charles, Louisiana; 12 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. We would like to say a special thank you to the staff at Heart to Heart Hospice, Tyler Texas for their tender, loving care given to Leonard.
