Memorial services for Marlene Marie Green, age 83, of Hideaway, Texas are scheduled for 2:30 P.M. Saturday, February 11, 2017 in the Mt. Sylvan Baptist Church with Rev. Bruce Rudd officiating. Services are under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale. Mrs. Green died Saturday, February 4, 2017 in a Tyler, Texas hospice center. She was born in Boston, Massachusetts on April 3, 1933 to the late Arthur Blanchard and Violet May (Lane) Stoddard. Mrs. Green was raised in Cape Cod and graduated from Sandwich High School. She traveled throughout the States and Europe throughout her husband’s career in the Air Force, settling in Garland, Texas where they lived for 33 years before moving to Hideaway in 2001. She was a member of the Mt. Sylvan Baptist Church, where she was an active member of the Joy class, Outreach, VBS along with other church events. Mrs. Green loved living in Hideaway and was very active in the community. She was preceded in death by her beautiful daughter, Rhonda Hooper and her loving husband of 60 years, Thomas G. “Tom” Green; sisters, Joann Stoddard and Roberta Drinkwater; and brother, Raymond Stoddard. Mrs. Green is survived by her son, Ray Green and wife, Becky of Hideaway, Texas; grandson, Brandon Green and wife, Nikki of Sachse, Texas; great grandsons, Tyler Green and Zackary Green, both of Sachse; sisters, Wilma Scannell of Saugus, Massachusetts, Blanche Lewis of Jonesboro, Georgia and Judy Cook Lambert of St. Petersburg, Florida; brothers, Arthur Stoddard of Orlando, Florida and Kenneth Stoddard of Greenfield, Massachusetts; son-in-law, Brooke Hooper of Garland, Texas; and many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
