Services for Shawn Houston, age 56 of Lindale, Texas, are scheduled for 10:30 AM Monday, July 20, 2020 at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale with Pastor John Offutt officiating. Interment will follow at the Damascus Cemetery in Lindale, Texas. Shawn passed Wednesday, July 15, 2020 surrounded by loved ones at his residence in Lindale, Texas. He was born in Blakely, Georgia on June 19, 1964. Shawn was formerly of Red Oak, Texas where he graduated High School in 1982. He served in the United States Marines and attended Mount Sylvan Methodist Church. He enjoyed being involved with his kids including coaching peewee football. Shawn worked for Goodyear in Tyler, Texas for a number of years and later owning and operating Great American Classics in Lindale, Texas. Shawn was preceded in death by his sister, Hope Hackel in 1970; brothers, Ken and Keith Houston and several aunts and uncles. He is survived by his 5 children, Melinda Grace and husband, Josh of Waxahachie, Texas; Corey Houston of Tyler, Texas; Chase Houston of Lindale, Texas; Connor Houston of Tyler, Texas; daughter, Josie Houston of Lindale, Texas; mother and father, Joy and Ray Champagne of Lindale, Texas; uncle, Roy Bruner of McKinney, Texas; 2 sisters, Rhonda Amason of Lake Dallas, Texas; Stacy Usher and husband, Chris of Waxahachie, Texas; 2 grandchildren, Dani and Finn Grace of Waxahachie, Texas; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Serving as pallbearers will be Chase Houston, Connor Houston, Jon Johnson, Bryce Barowski, Olan Loveless, and Tommy Goodson. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday, July 19, 2020 at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale, Texas. Due to COVID-19 precautions, masks are required to be worn for attendance to the visitation and funeral services.
