Funeral services for Troy Nolan Long, age 73, of Red Springs, Texas are scheduled for 3:00 P.M. Monday, February 13, 2017 in the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale, Texas with Rev. Collin Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Red Springs Cemetery with services under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home. Mr. Long died Friday, February 10, 2017 in a Tyler, Texas hospice center. He was born on March 14, 1943 in Tyler to the late Troy Frances and Johnnie Elizabeth (Bostick) Long and was a lifelong resident of Red Springs, Texas. Mr. Long had previously worked as a welder, Red Springs Volunteer Fireman, longtime reserve constable for Smith County Precinct 4 and was a Mason. He was a member of the Red Springs Missionary Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Long on January 17, 2005. Mr. Long is survived by his wife, Nancy Long of Red Springs; son, Steve Long of Red Springs; 3 daughters, Lesa Verschelde of Red Springs; Regina Jackson of Franklin; Christy Long Widemon of Hawkins; step-daughters, Wanda Powell of White Oak; and Michelle Grogan of Palestine; brother, Robert Long of Red Springs; sister, Elizabeth Ellis of Red Springs; 11 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers will be John Owens, Nolan Jackson, Jacob Long, Jay Hollis, Justin Groff, Lloyd Long, Clifford Long. The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Sunday, February 12, 2017 at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale.
