Alma Durham

Funeral services and celebration of life for Alma Estalee Durham, age 95 of Tyler, Texas, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home Chapel in Lindale, Texas. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Lindale City Cemetery. Alma passed peacefully into the arms of our Lord and Savior, Wednesday, September 24, 2025, in Tyler surrounded by loved ones. She was born January 28, 1930, in Bonham, Texas to the late Allen Reed and Edna Louellen (Tarpley) Watson. She grew up in Wichita Falls where she attended school. Alma met the love of her life, Max Durham, and married on January 28th, 1946. They enjoyed 64 exciting years together. She lived in Tyler for many years and was previously of Troup and Lindale, Texas. Alma was a homemaker raising four children until she started a career. She was a retired Bookkeeper and worked for both Gibson’s Discount Store and Macham Acoustics. In her spare time Alma enjoyed working in her yard, Square Dancing, her dog Bella, and spending time with her beloved family. Those who knew and loved her, appreciated her strength and feisty approach to life. Alma enjoyed collecting Betty Boop memorabilia and loved the color red which she exhibited with her fun, red glasses. She was preceded in death by her husband, Peerless “Max” Durham, grandson, Dillon Durham, daughters-in-law Mary Driggers Durham and Janice Elaine Durham and six siblings. Alma is survived by her children, Jimmy Durham of Tyler, Gary Durham of Tyler, Vickie Drury and husband, Thad of Bullard, and Debra Sorrell and husband, Ralph of Lansing, Kansas; grandchildren and spouses, Aimee and Allen Roby, Jeff and Tanya Durham, Jason and Tatum Durham, Misti Durham, Chesley and Aaron Baker, Max Brown, Reed and Becky Brown, and Gates and Marty Brown; 18 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and niece Janel Kesler; and numerous other loving family members and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Durham, Jason Durham, Max Brown, Reed Brown, Gates Brown and Aaron Baker. Honorary pallbearers include Allen Roby, A.J. Roby, Jarod Durham, Jacob Durham, Jaxon Durham, Eli Durham, Ethan Durham, Colter Baker, Cannon Baker, Caden Max Baker, Austin Brown, Lucas Brown and Garrison Brown. The family has asked in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Wounded Warrior Project or Shriners Children’s Org. The Family wishes to thank the leadership and staff at Prestige Estates for the loving and tender care given to our mother during her time as a resident.
