Illian Robinson

Funeral services for Mrs. Illian Robinson, age 95, of New Harmony are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 18, 2005 at the New Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Robbie Caldwell, Mr. Wesley Ferrell and Mr. Paul Smith officiating. Services are under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home in Lindale. Mrs. Robinson died Friday, September 16, 2005 at her residence. She was born in Dunn, Texas on December 15, 1909 to C. P. and Bertha Young and as a child lived in Plains, Brownfield and Lubbock, Texas. On December 25, 1927 she married Boyd F. Robinson and then moved to New Harmony on January 1, 1940 where they became owners of B. F. Robinson Grocery for 33 years. Mrs. Robinson was a member of the Young at Heart organization and the New Harmony Baptist Church, where she served as secretary of the Ruth Sunday School class for 50 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Boyd F. Robinson, Sr.; daughter, Dorothy Jean Robinson; parents, C. P. and Bertha Young; sisters, Ida Holland Connolly and Emma Lou Jackson Coffin; brother, C. P. Young, Jr.; nephews, Joe L. and Hugh Young; and niece, Mary Lou Holland. Mrs. Robinson is survived by her Daughters & Son-in-law, Bertha May Goodwin of Las Vegas, Nevada and Trecia Bass and husband Glenn of Tyler, Texas; Son & Daughter-in-law, Dr. Boyd Robinson, Jr. and wife Jean of Drumore, Pennsylvania; Granddaughters & Grandsons-in-law, Dr. Marsha Goodwin & Juan Mendez of Sacramento, California, Dr. Sandra Goodwin & George Barrier of Las Vegas, Nevada, Carla Bass & Rafael Donoso of Quito, Ecuador and Britina Robinson of College Station, Texas; Grandson & Granddaughter-in-law, Keith & Gretchen Robinson of Ada, Michigan; Great Grandchildren, Alexander & Andrew McCaslin of Las Vegas, Nevada and Emma and Zachary Robinson of Ada, Michigan; Brother, Melvin L. Young of Brownfield, Texas; Nieces, Kennie Welch of Plano, Texas, Linda Jackson of New Orleans, Texas, Nancy Baize, Denver City, Texas, and Dr. Vicki Johnson of Hoover, Alabama; and Nephews, Johnny Holland of San Antonio, Texas and Kelly Young of Levelland, Texas. Serving as pallbearers will be Ray Green, Bill Jeffrey, George Cates, Bobby Gimble, Herman Gimble, and Philip Lee. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 17, 2005 from 5:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. at the Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home in Lindale.
