James Howard Moser Sr.

Funeral services for James Howard Moser Sr, age 93 of Hideaway, Texas, are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home Chapel in Lindale, Texas with Rev. Chris Pulliam officiating. Interment will be held at the DFW National Cemetery. Jim passed away on Monday, June 17, 2024, in Tyler, Texas. He was born October 30, 1930, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to the late Ralph Robert and Mary Virginia (Heiny) Moser. Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1956, during the Korean War in Washington, D.C. at the Pentagon. Jim married the love of his life, Frances Virginia Albertson Moser on June 5, 1951, in Omaha, Nebraska. He worked for Carpenter Paper Company, which became International Paper Company and then Texas Envelope. He ranked as their top salesman. Jim retired from Texas Envelope in 1985. Jim was very athletic. He ran, road a bike, played golf, and loved the game of tennis. He also played football in High School and College. Jim and Ginny Moser traveled to many countries and traveled all over the United States in their R.V. Jim was also an active member of the Shriners for 66 years, taking the children to the hospitals in Shreveport, Dallas, Houston, and Galveston. He and Ginny volunteered for the Salvation Army and also at UT Health, Tyler. Jim was a scout master for Jim and Robert’s scout troop. He was Order of the Arrow and awarded the Silver Beaver for his service to the Scouts. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Frances Virginia Moser; children, Mary Lee Moser Bowman, Dr. James H. Moser Jr. and wife, Rose; and Robert David Moser and wife, Kandee; grandchildren, Joshua David Bowman and wife, Trena, Sarah Moser Nannaman and husband, Andy, Lisa Moser Hardin and husband, Robert, Daniel Moser and wife, Sarah, Angela Moser Gordon and husband, Chris, Michelle Moser, Erin Moser Lowery and husband, Dr. Jonathon Lowery, and Kara Moser; 6 great grandchildren; and numerous other loving family members and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Lonnie Bowman. Honorary pallbearers include, Darrell Jones, Rupert Anthony, Randy Alexander, James H. Moser Jr, and Robert D. Moser. Family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
