Nelda Elaine Babb MacFall

Services for Nelda Elaine Babb MacFall aged 73 of New Harmony are scheduled for 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 26, 2013 in the New Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Robbie Caldwell officiating. Interment will follow in the New Harmony Cemetery. Nelda died on June 22, 2013 at her home in New Harmony (Tyler) Texas. Nelda was born April 8, 1940 in Tyler, Tx; the daughter of the late Leroy and Carmen Babb, who raised her to be a woman of solid character and grit as well as of enduring faith. 1957 was a turning point in her life. Not only did she graduate from Tyler schools but November 24 was one of the best days of her life for she became the bride of Kenneth Wayne MacFall. Within four short years, she and Wayne were the proud parents of three children, and Nelda committed her time on this earth in devotion to her family while serving Him; earning Mother of the Year every year, if only in her children’s eyes, even as she received her Nursing certificate and practiced nursing for many years. After Wayne was taken from her to be with the Lord six long years ago, Nelda got up, dusted off her hands and knees, and continued on. Her love endures mightily within her three children, Sandra Clarke and husband, Richard; Leigh Nalls Hablinski and husband Ray; Michael MacFall and wife Teresa. Nelda reserved a special place in her heart for Donald Craig Brown and wife Jan. She adored eight grandchildren: Ryan Clarke, Becca Clarke, Cole Nalls and wife Brandy, Joshua Hablinski, Nathan MacFall and wife Sarah, Joshua MacFall and wife Leslie, Sarah Michelle Hullett and husband John, and Catie MacFall, along with ten great grandchildren, Trevor, Nicholas, Katelyn, Alisha, Lydia, Jason, Don Michael, Lydia, Bianca, and Makayla; she is also survived by her brother, Archa Babb; sisters, Carolyn Harris and Doris Holmes all of Tyler. Nelda’s faith was her life. She had a servant’s heart and proved it daily. She attended several East Texas’ churches and loved them all. It’s hard to say what she loved the most… To raise her voice in praise along with her sisters, Carolyn and Doris of which made up the Southern Gospel trio, The Babb Sisters… Or her weekly Thursday Bible studies and fellow students of the Lord. Nelda loved and lived for both. Nelda lived a full life. A humble life. A happy life. We rejoice with her as she now sings with angels; her beautiful, flawless soprano resplendent amidst the glory of the heavens. Family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
