Tatyana Buarque Costa e Silva

Born in Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil, on November 22, 1973, Tatyana Silva lived a life marked by compassion, humility, and unwavering faith in Christ. On July 19, 1997, she married Elias Costa e Silva Junior, the love of her life. From this beautiful union came their two sons, João Elias (25) and Rúben (24), who were her pride, her joy, and her greatest earthly legacy. Tatyana Silva, beloved wife, mother, daughter, and faithful servant of Christ, went home to be with the Lord on November 27, 2025. She passed peacefully, surrounded by love and sustained by the presence of Jesus whom she trusted with her whole heart. Tatyana was the cherished daughter of Alta Maria Alves de Lyra and the late Syraldo Buarque de Lyra, who loved her deeply and gave her joy in life. Tatyana was passionate about learning and teaching. She earned her degree in Letras from Faculdade Atenas Maranhense in 2011. She also held a Theology degree from Instituto Bíblico Betel Brasileiro (1998) and a Postgraduate degree in Missiology from the Seminário de Educação Cristã in Recife (2000). In the year 2000, she and her husband began their ministerial journey as pastors in São Domingos, Maranhão, where they faithfully served the Church for fourteen years, ministering in different congregations and communities throughout that season. In 2013, responding in obedience to God’s missionary call, she moved with her family to the United States, where she joyfully served for ten years as a missionary teacher with Youth With A Mission (YWAM). Her dedication to the Gospel and her love for people left a lasting mark everywhere the Lord sent her. Beyond her ministry, Tatyana had a gentle love for caring for plants and found joy in nurturing life in every corner of her home. She also had a special gift for decorating, creating warm and welcoming spaces filled with beauty and peace. Her home was always open, and she delighted in receiving everyone with kindness, hospitality, and a heart full of grace. Tatyana is survived by her loving husband Elias, her sons João Elias and his wife Taylor Silva, and Rúben and his fiancée Jessie Glenn. She is also survived by her mother, Alta Maria, her extended family in Brazil and the United States, and countless friends whose lives were touched by her warmth, her kindness, and her steadfast trust in God. She was preceded in death by her father, Syraldo Alves Lyra, and other loved ones who awaited her in glory. Those who walked with her witnessed a faith that never wavered. Even in the hardest days, she held firmly to her favorite Scripture: “Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine according to his power that is at work within us.” — Ephesians 3:20. These words defined her hope. They framed her prayers. And they remain her testimony. Her legacy is one of love, courage, and surrender to the will of God. It is impossible to measure the impact her life had on so many people and even nations. A sweet, generous, humble, and resilient woman with an easy smile, she touched hearts and opened doors wherever she went. She reminded everyone around her that, in Christ, suffering is never wasted and Heaven is our final healing. Though our hearts ache with her absence, we rejoice knowing she is now in the presence of the Savior she adored; restored, whole, and eternally alive.The family is deeply grateful for the prayers, care, and support received throughout this difficult time. “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” — Psalm 116:15
